If you didn’t already know, Haydn loves illustrated maps and Cornwall! There’s no better excuse but to combine the two and produce this map illustration. Well, in his view anyway ;-). Having spent three great years at Falmouth University, Haydn has a particular soft spot for Cornwall. Uncommonly known, Kernow a’gas Dynergh, ‘Welcome to Cornwall’ in Cornish. There’s nothing better than the coast, surfing and it’s relaxed way of life. When he’s not drawing, painting or running, you can find him eager to travel to this magical region. Bude is one of his favourites, having surfed there many times!
This map illustration showcases the county’s attractions and landmarks. Including the Eden Project, the Minack Theatre to the Newquay’s surfing culture. It’s intended as a promotional material for the region, and for tourists to find out more. Produced using gouache and scanned and edited digitally, this map uses a limited colour palette.
