Haydn loved Singapore on his year and a half travel trip! Traveling around Asia, New Zealand and Australia; Singapore was clean, fun and energetic. It’s definitely one of his favourite cities to visit. It’s a similar vibe to his Hong Kong map and New York City map – equally great cities in Haydn’s book! As a result, Haydn thought it would be rude not to produce a Singapore illustrated map. Illustrating tourist attractions like Singapore’s Cable Cars, National Orchid Garden to Little India. This illustrated map includes bold colours, striking architecture and tourists admiring the views.
It’s one of Haydn’s favourite city’s in the world as it’s clean, modern, with friendly folk all around. Haydn’s aim for the illustration was to show the warmth and vibrancy of the city. One of it’s highlights is Marina Bay Sands, a piece of architectural genius. The map first started out in Haydn’s sketchbook, working on the compositional elements, which is a crucial stage within any project. Producing a refined sketch, followed by the final illustration.
If you liked this illustrated map of Singapore, it’s also available as an art print! Or if you like maps in general, take a look at one of my London map illustration or Venice illustrated map.
