San Francisco has to be one of my favourite places to visit, that I haven’t managed to visit for a few years, unlike Venice, where I haven’t even visited yet! There’s lots of illustrators for hire out there, and my illustration work has to be the best it can be. I believe my style is something a bit different, which hopefully you agree with!
My style has certainly developed and evolved over the years, with gouache, watercolour and digital becoming a main say with my illustration style. With practice, commissions and personal projects, this certainly helps me progress as an illustrator.
With this in mind, I wanted to add to my growing collection of illustrated maps, and produce this map that you can see today.
To celebrate my fondness of San Francisco, (and because I’m on a bit of a role with the whole illustrated maps thing), I’ve created this San Francisco illustrated map. This map celebrates the city’s attractions, which tourists can follow along to.
San Francisco Map: Illustrators For Hire
Below you can see the famous Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman’s Whalf, Chinatown, City Hall, Golden Gate Park and Museum of Modern Art. I wanted to base my colour’s on the United States flag, which meant only using blues, reds, and whites (and sometimes green in places). It was a really enjoyable map to create, and it’s made me really want to go back there again, who wants to invite me there?
I’m showcasing an example of one of my illustrations from my portfolio, as if you’re looking for illustrators for hire, do pop me an email. I’m always on the look out for my next commission, and I would love to work with you on your project.
