Portrait illustrations are one of Haydn’s favourites to illustrate. From illustrated maps, extreme sports illustrations to conceptual art, nothing beats a portrait. It’s the challenge that makes it so exciting. One small modification, and a face can change dramatically. Furthermore, the tone and character of a face can change with it.
This illustrated portraits series documents some of the world’s most famous faces. These figures have influenced Haydn in some way or another. Sacks for his writings, David Attenborough for being a constant, and Roger Federer for his skill.
These artworks are mostly created with gouache and digital. Featuring a range of tonal values, limited colour palettes, and appeal. If you’re a fan of these portrait illustrations, check out Haydn’s portrait sketchbook. Otherwise, do check out his illustration shop, which are available to buy as art prints.
