I love working as an illustrator as I’m always working on something new everyday, as no project is ever the same.
From editorial illustrations, publication illustrations to producing poster designs, today I showcase a rather unique project!
I’ve been working on a really interesting and unique illustration recently, working on a music cover illustration for a local musician, Richard Fordham.
I was asked to create an eye catching, attractive and ‘bond’ style illustration that draws people towards the new music record, whilst appealing to a wide audience.
Illustrating for his new song ‘Not Bond – It’s Fordham’; a rather clever and certainly unique approach to music, I’ve produced this illustration digitally on Adobe Illustrator.
Working from reference photos of Richard’s brand new music video, the illustration works with a limited colour palette of reds, blacks and purples. The illustration and song perfectly co-insides with the new release of James Bond ‘Spectre’ in the cinemas.
I wanted my illustration to represent many themes that often runs through Bond films (as I’m a massive fan of the franchise), that draws attention to ‘Bond’, danger (why reds are used throughout the background), and of course the seductive and captivating girls beside the main character.
I referred to digital illustration for this project instead of my usual gouache and watercolour approach, as the project required very fast results, that digital illustration solves.
The song is now being sold on iTunes, so do check it out if you can!
