Quote Magazine asked Haydn to create three magazine illustrations. Based in the Netherlands, as part of Hearst Magazines, is the largest publisher of magazine media across print and digital.
Illustrating for the magazine’s special addition, Haydn illustrated towards the magazine’s main topic. How people live and spend their money. Especially illustrating towards how wealthy figures spend their time and fortunes.
Haydn created one illustration spread and two full page magazine illustrations. The varied stories are fun, interesting and diverse. Discussing old fashioned proletarians, who are fake at their core. Bogus hippie silicon valley tech nerds (who cannot live without money). Plus hipsters who spend too much on extreme items.
Like all projects, rough sketches formed the initial development. Working out the composition and theme of the illustrations. Painted with a limited colour palette using gouache and digital. Concentrating the illustrations on the pinnacle figures that each story represents.
