The Roger Federer canvas gouache painting was developed by layering gouache colours to build depth, define facial features and create a realistic portrait. Working with gouache on canvas offered an opportunity to experiment with a limited colour palette, brushwork and tonal values.
Inspired by Federer’s elegance, precision and composure on the tennis court. This original artwork combines Haydn’s passion for portrait painting and his appreciation for tennis!
