I always try and fit personal work around my paid illustration commissions, as these are the drawings, paintings and pieces of art that I’m very passionate about, that I love creating!
One of those things, (that I seem to do on a daily basis at the moment), is drawing in my sketchbook. This is usually in the form of portraits (think most of the pages below are portraits!), some landscapes and type based work.
I’m not too sure why I’m so drawn to producing portraits, but I generally find faces interesting to draw, and think it’s fascinating to try and capture someone’s personality within one image.
As I’m a big sports fan, I usually draw famous sports stars within my sketchbook (or those who have been in the news). This sketchbook update showcases famous rugby players (because of the Rugby World Cup), Kanye West to Boris Johnson.
Like I was saying previously, I also love to draw landscapes whenever I can within my sketchbook, and I always take my sketchbook with me when I go on public transport, so I can draw people without them knowing! This is shown towards in the middle of this update.
