Alongside producing illustrations for various clients and customers, from typography, illustrated maps, to my all time favourite; editorial illustration, I’m also commissioned for more graphic design projects, like this one today.
I was asked by Shield Plumbing Ltd, a local plumbing company based in Shepperton, Surrey, to produce a logo design for their services. The business wanted a logo that would represent them in a dynamic and professional way, and how their plumbing would protect anyone from water problems and damage. The logo shows a strong and metallic shield, protecting itself, and also whoever’s behind it, from the blue, cold water.
You can see the water bouncing off the shield, which effectively showcases how their plumbing can sort any water problems that you’ve got.
The logo was firstly developed in my sketchbook, working out the composition and ideas, whilst the final artwork was produced in Adobe Illustrator. I was also asked to produce a drawing of the logo, that was produced with the trusted pencil and drawing pad, and scanned and edited in Adobe Photoshop. These are all included in the images below.
It this was a very enjoyable logo design project, with a very enjoyable client to work with too (I couldn’t of asked for a such a painless project!
