Following on from several animation illustrations that I produced a few weeks ago, I’ve only gone and produced another (can you believe it! Crazy stuff!)
Like I was saying in a previous blog post, I want animation to work alongside my illustration portfolio, and to combine these two creative fields together. I really enjoy animation illustrations, as they are often eye catching, great for the viewer, and is something that I really enjoy!
Who doesn’t want to see their work animated?
From my last personal animation project, where I produced an animated portrait, cityscape and football scene, this animation is a little bit different!
Inspired by the story of Laika, who the first dog that was launched into space on 3rd November 1957, I’ve used gouache, watercolour, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects to produce this illustration / animation.
You can see the animation in full glory below, with detailed shots of the illustration as well. I wanted to showcase a short but sweet animation that effectively showcase Laika in the middle of a space walk. I thought it would be quite humorous to animate something that is common on land; within space. Something that you don’t really see all that often!
It was a great animation personal project that allowed me to play around with all sorts of animation techniques and practising my tools, which is now showcasing within my illustration portfolio.
