I’m really pleased to showcase a brand new poster illustration which I produced for the Odiham Society in Hampshire, which celebrates the 800th Anniversary of the Manga Carta next year in June.
As I’m originally from Odiham, it gives me great pleasure to produce this poster for the Odiham Society, as it’s such an important part of history, which I’m pleased to be play a very small part in.
Odiham is a major stepping stone on the medieval journey to Parliamentary Democracy and liberty, with King John’s castle being built by the canal here, the Odiham Society wanted to create a series of events in the Summer of next year that celebrate this important historical occasion.
Working closely with the Odiham Society, I’ve created this digital map which tells everyone about the ‘Magna Carta Journey’, which is being held on June 10th 2015. From the walk, car or cycle trail, it’s a map which I’ve had a lot of fun producing, and because I love producing illustrated maps, this couldn’t be a better project for me!
It was also really fun to produce the entire map digitally, something which I don’t tend to do all that often. There’s a big advantage to work digitally, as it’s quick, clean and gives you the ability to change a part of the illustration instantly.
It looks like it’s going to be a great occasion, with a picnic ending in the heart of Runnymede, where the Magna Carta was signed and sealed.
I hope you enjoy this illustration, be sure to comment below your thought’s, I’ll love to hear them.
