Haydn worked with Mat Klicz, to create a series of Animal Farm illustrations and designs. Mat, a London graphic designer, worked with Haydn on the illustration, whilst Mat on the design. Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is a classic fictional book, published in 1945. After studying the novel, the pair concentrated on forming a fictional currency. Based on if the farm animals were successful in their plan to create a communist country.
Creating different values of currency, the notes includes Old Major, Napoleon, to Boxer. Each note has a different look and feel, with different colours per bank note. From the sketching stage, Haydn created the illustrations, whilst Mat concentrated on design. These Animal Farm illustrations feature in The Power and Influence of Illustration.
