From my last Illustrated Quote of Oscar Wilde, I really wanted to produce a hand rendered quote, which is produced in my usual way of working, with gouache, and then scanned into Photoshop.
I didn’t want to let my old self down, so I decided to give it a go, and here it is below.
I had a look online for some quotes that I would enjoy illustrating and saw this one by Winston Churchill, “Never, Never, Never, Give Up”.
It was a quote that jumped out at me to illustrate, which actually has a good message within it, which we all should stick to. This definitely applies with painting, as sometimes paintings can not be going your way, but if you ‘Don’t Give Up’, you can reach the break through.
As I’ve never really done a typography gouache painting before, it was a good experience to encounter, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Below also shows a couple of pages from my sketchbook from this project, which shows my thinking behind the quote that I picked out. Thanks Winston!
I will be putting these Typography Illustrations into my illustration portfolio very soon, if you wonder why these are not in there too. I just need to shuffle things around so I can include these illustrations, so look out for a little bit of a change with the home page and selections within my work pages.
Many thanks for listening and visiting my news page today. You can follow what I’m up to on my Twitter, Facebook or Instagram pages, I’ll really appreciate it if you do, and don’t be afraid to say hi to me! Many thanks again, and have a great day!
