I’ve recently produced this illustration for ‘Wall Of Wally’, which is an online publication that asks illustrators to produce an illustration of Wally Olins, who was a branding and corporate identity specialist, who sadly passed in 2014.
As a tribute to his brilliant life, Wall of Wally was created.
Created by Jamin Galea, illustrators we’re asked to produce a portrait of Wally.
Working to fixed width (40cm by 40cm), these illustrations will hopefully be made into an illustration directory, which will be given to Wally’s wife, and if Jamin gets financial support for the project; in an exhibition space somewhere in London – which is exciting!
After seeing a few other illustrators submitting their own portrait, and after being encouraged by the insightful Trevor, I decided to have a go at it myself, and I’m really pleased I did!
You can see my illustration below, which is live on the website as well. This was produced with watercolour, gouache and edited in Photoshop.
It was a really fun project to work on, as there wasn’t much pressure on the image, and I could produce anything I wanted, which was ace!
The website is looking great, it’s a fantastic project idea, which is packed full of great illustrations and talent, so be sure to check it all out!
I hope you enjoy my illustration!
