I love sketching in my sketchbook, and always try and carry it around with me, and draw whenever I get the chance. As I haven’t published a Sketchbook Update blog post in a while, I thought this would be the perfect time to do so!
These drawings (which are mainly portraits, that I’ve just discovered), are on average 10 minutes or so long. Working with coloured pencil only, I have to work quick to capture the mannerisms and characteristics, and sometimes have to abandon some drawings, after some people walk away, look in a completely different direction, or generally notice me drawing them – you just can’t find the staff these days!
I’ve always had a big obsession with drawing portraits in my sketchbook, as everyone is different, and the more ‘interesting’ someone is, the better!
Below you can see my sketchbook from the current month of August 2015. You may be thinking – how has he done so many drawing in 11 days? That’s just not possible! Well I’ve recently travelled up to Newcastle, and had a load of time to draw people on the train.
I hope you enjoy these drawings, let me know what you think of them by commenting below!
Many thanks for listening and visiting my news page today. You can follow what I’m up to on my Twitter, Facebook or Google + pages, I’ll really appreciate it if you do, and don’t be afraid to say hi to me! Many thanks again, and have a great day!
