I’ve always been a keen admirer of developing my use of colour within my painting’s, with whatever medium or material I’m using.
Experimenting with colour is a great way to develop my way I form my illustrations, which is why I have to fit some personal work alongside my commissioned work.
With today’s painting I wanted to paint with one set colour, and use only values of that colour to form the pictures, which you can see below.
I’m particularly appealed to that of the green image, as it’s range of tones is varied and makes a more interesting image, but saying this the red works well as an image too, haha! With the green image, I wanted to also experiment with water marks and letting the paint do it’s thing, and you can see where the paint has decided to do the job of painting for me (located on the top right & bottom left).
This was produced quite quickly in about 30 minutes per image, and I’m speeding this process up every time. These have been uploaded straight into this blog, and didn’t touch Photoshop at all, as I didn’t want to fall back on this if I messed up.
What do you think?
