I’ve just completed this personal figurative painting, of a relaxing woman taking a well deserved break, seems like a nice day! The painting was produced from a fashion magazine spread, as I was quite inspired by the composition of the photograph, as fashion photographers and photographers, use great compositions within their images. I learnt quite a bit about how small touches, like the red bag, can balance the composition of the piece together. The illustration was produced with gouache and then scanned into Photoshop for cleaning up, and posted here for you to see! I also took this opportunity to practice my figurative painting, and this is an area which I want to strengthen within my work, as this was the perfect photograph to do this.
