I’ve always had a big passion for drawing and painting portraits, and as I don’t always tend to showcase my portrait illustrations (especially sketchbook portrait illustrations) on this blog, I wanted to produce a featured blog post for today, featuring ‘Portrait Illustrations 2015’.
If you’re a keen follower on my Instagram or Twitter accounts, you’ll know how much I like to illustrate portraits, as their always so interesting to produce! From the legend that is Sean Connery, the stylish Roger Federer, to the talented B.B King, I’ve showcased the portraits which I’ve produced over the last 7 months.
These portraits illustrations have been produced either in my sketchbook with colouring pencils, or with gouache and watercolour, which refers back to my style of illustrating. I love drawing portraits, as I can do it quickly, and produce lots of different marks, that painting just doesn’t achieve sometimes.
This is a good half way point in the year to show you what portraits I’ve been producing, and for myself to re-cap with the portraits I’ve produced too!
I hope you enjoy this selection of portraits from 2015, and here’s to another half a year of epic (hopefully) portrait illustrations!
