Following on from my other gouache painting that I will be selling at Pick Me Up this year, I wanted to create another painting that you’ll be able to purchase at the event.
I’ve focused my painting’s on English football, with the previous painting about England’s World Cup Win in 1966, to this painting, which is probably not a pleasant one, especially for Paul Gascoigne! With this illustration, I focused on that classic English football moment, when Gary Lineker mouthed the words, “Have A Word With Him”. If you don’t have a clue what I’m on about, this was 1990 World Cup Semi Final, when England lost to West Germany on penalties, typical!
I wanted to combine both typography and illustration together with this one, and I’m pleased with how the results came out, even though Gary was a challenge to paint!
