Like my previous greetings card illustration, I wanted to create a secondary card which I can practice and experiment with my typography illustration.
Another reason why I wanted to create this card was so I could form a greetings card set that will be sold within my shop.
If you fancy getting your hands on some, or all of them, be sure to head over to my shop, as this card will be added in the next few days. As my typographical work increases, I wanted to practice what I’ve already learnt and produce further experiments within this card design.
Like always, I have included my sketchbook pages, so you can see my process with this particular project. Trying to keep on the lines of warmth, happiness and the themes which you come across when you think of Happy Birthday, I have hopefully conveyed this within my illustration.
From my development of ideas within my sketchbook, I wanted to experiment with the letter ‘B’, and try and experiment with this letter to show someone holding a set of balloons, incorporating both the letter ‘B’ and the arm.
I think this works well as both the letter and arm are visible and are not too confusing.
Many thanks for listening and visiting my news page today. You can follow what I’m up to on my Twitter, Facebook or Google + pages, I’ll really appreciate it if you do, and don’t be afraid to say hi to me! Many thanks again, and have a great day!
