I just finished this personal portrait painting which is produced with gouache, water colour and imported into Photoshop.
The last step is very important, as I clean up areas which are messy or ‘muddy’ within the painting. I decided to stick to a limited palette and complementary colours, as I prefer working with a limited amount of colours, as I seem to get lost with using a lot of colour at the same time.
I don’t normally do this, but specially for my News viewers (it’s you!), I have included my original artwork, before I scanned into Photoshop.
You can see the contrast from before I scanned it into Photoshop, and after. I have cleaned the paint strokes around the nose, forehead, and sorted out her lips.
It’s not a massive change but I thought I’ll include it in this post, just so you start to get a feel of how I prepare my final artwork. The wonders of Photoshop eh!
Many thanks for listening and visiting my news page today. You can follow what I’m up to on my Twitter, Facebook or Google + pages, I’ll really appreciate it if you do, and don’t be afraid to say hi to me! Many thanks again, and have a great day!
